Holidays

Have had a lovely week off, done a nice bit of hanging about with Jane from London. Visits to the beach, town, even the Halswell Aquatic centre for some sun and surf. Loved it.

Another Petite in the offing: She is called something like Saint Choco Love. Ain't she a babe.

In the movie watching stakes, more of the fab 10th Doctor Who, and first in the Vengeance trilogy of which Old Boy is the second. Sympathy for Mr Vengeance. At Alices. Their synopsis is: "The first part of Chan-wook Park's revenge trilogy, precursor to the incredible 'Old Boy', centres around a young deaf man, Ryu and his dying sister. In order to afford the kidney she needs, Ryu goes to extreme measures, but it seems that even bad deeds with good intentions bring bad consequences. Beautifully shot and perhaps less overtly visceral than its sequel this engrossing story is harrowing and humane in equal measure."

Ummm, it in EXTREMELY harrowing. But also quite beautiful. Next to watch is "Sympathy for Lady Vengeance". When we have gathered some strength.

On the reading agenda, James May's driving book (Thanks to James's ardent supporter Alison), and the memoirs of Harriette Wilson, courtesan.
