Quelle horreur. Ah well I like it, it is fun to play a bit chameleonic

In a pensive mood. I think Someone misunderstood the quote about worshipping the ground l walked upon, he thought I was the ground he could walk on.

Civil Unions

John Campbell wants to know what we should call people entering into civil unions
http://campbelllive.tv3.co.nz/

Might I profer "civilians" or "unionists" - both have a militant/militaristic/rebel tone which I think pretty cool

I hate the term "partner" - just makes me think of cowboys (and I like cowboys)

Feet-ish

As Mike says
"there is no excuse"

somehow four new pairs of shoes managed to sidle their way into my wardrobe over the weekend. So much for the strict new budget.

But they are so gooood.
Baby blue pointy boots with little heels and zips and cutouts
hot pink suede pointy ones with little diamante detail
+ 2 pairs of pointy ones (one black, one cream) with rubbery soles, little heels and orange pieces (were $169 reduced to 20 - no excuses ...)

stage, radio, film, photos - a right show-off of a week

For someone who was going to karaoke as a spectator, I ended up singing a frightening array of tunes:

don't it make your brown eyes blue (well, red more like)
knock on wood
it's raining men
black velvet
+ duets on
you're the one that i want
we've got tonight
paradise by the dashboard light

woo ha.

+ was on radio this week getting interviewed
+ got filmed for some video thing for work
+ photos of me and buddies on wall of gym from a show we went to

weird amount of spotlight. back to normality now, and shy retiring persona returns.

Consummation - this will be the last song on my movie soundtrack

Just got Nina Simone double in mail, Nina Simone and Piano! and Silk and Soul
For the song "Consummation" which is not on most "best ofs"

And now we are one
Let my soul rest in peace
At last it is done
My soul has been released
For thousands of years
My soul has roamed the earth
In search for you
So that someday I could give birth
To know joy, joy, joy, joy
Joy and peace is mine
Peace divine
And now we give thanks
Give thanks for each other
At peace forever
For it is done
At peace forever
For we are one

Reality TV

Courtesy of "Web Pages that Suck"
The news that watchers of "The Apprentice" will be stoked to hear

Omarosa is not only online with the most ego-riddled site ever, but she is going on Fear Factor -
as a way of facing her fear of swimming since nearly drowning in a pool. Yeah right.

Not Waving but Drowning

Nobody heard him, the dead man,
But still he lay moaning:
I was much further out than you thought
And not waving but drowning.

Poor chap, he always loved larking
And now he's dead
It must have been too cold for him his heart gave way,
They said.

Oh, no no no, it was too cold always
(Still the dead one lay moaning)
I was much too far out all my life
And not waving but drowning.

Helen Reddy

Do you remember her? Everyone prob knows Delta Dawn and I am Woman
but I would like to point out 2 other classics.

Keep on singing
Featuring
He Didn't Have Much Money
But Things Didn't Seem So Bad
I Felt Just Like The Queen Of The World
When I Was With My Dad
Then One Rainy April Night
Daddy Called Me To His Side
He Held Me With His Tremblin Hands
Right Before He Died

he said "Keep on singing" etc

And if you like scary stuff what about
Angie Baby

Stopping at her house is a neighbor boy
with evil on his mind.'Cause he's been peeking in Angie's room
at night through the window blind.
I see your folks have gone away.Would you dance with me today?
I'll show you how to have a good time, Angie Baby.

When he walks in the room, he feels confused
like he's walked into a play.
And the music's so loud it spins him around'til his soul has lost it's way.
And as she turns the volume down
he's getting smaller with the sound.
It seems to pull him off the ground.Toward the radio he's bound never to be found
.

Oooh! And the music is demonic.

Bro Jon down from Auckland, met at Sticky Fingers with Mum and Dad. I like my family, am I in minority?
